Who remembers that our Auntie Eileen was also Mrs Johnson, school secretary at St Mary's Junior School (am I remembering the name correctly?) on Sunningfields Road? Assembly every morning and hymn practice on Fridays, taken by the headmaster Mr Grant. One Friday, while instructing the school at hymn practice while standing on a chair (think Captain Mainwaring for height and shape). Mr Grant fell off. The room had an embarrassed hush ... really we all wanted to laugh. Two of the older girls then received Mr Grant's praise for their practical response, namely fetching Mrs Johnson!
